Dear Sue, Just wanted to write and tell you that I really love the skins. I received them a little over a week or so ago and have been busy so I could not write. But they are absolutely fabulous. I really love the Cosmic Tropic and the the Azteck Purple can''t wait to get in the water with them on. I would also really like to thank you for the swatches as they really show what the other suits will look like. I have already picked a couple more that I will be ordering in the near future. Once again thanks for the skins I'll forward some pics when I get to the water with them on.

Where are all you goddesses? I've been diving in these wonderful skins for several years now (Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Bay Islands, Fiji), and I have never once seen another goddess.

Dear Dive Goddess, I think you have a really cool thing going here. I bought a skin (cosmic tropic) and couldn't be missed in cozumel. I fit just right and was perfect for the time in the water. Everyone loved it. I would love to see a clothing line come out with you creativity. Thanks again . Can't wait to make another puchase soon. Jane from Vero Beach Fla.

Dear Divegoddess: I am so happy to report that you have once again scored a 101 on a scale from 1 to 100! I had so much fun being the "matching Garanimal" in Cozumel. The skins were a hit everywhere I went . I put your cards in the lobby, and the divemasters have your stickers on the boats.(3, I kept one for my SUV) The jewelry from "Two Bears " is also a hit . I am so glad I have a friend in Texas who knows how to dress us Garanimals! More orders will follow, and thank you again. P.S. I dived the Punta Del Sur (Devil's Throat), my first 140 ft. dive . It was more than amazing, and I had on the Pink and Black so the fishies were lovin' me like a friend!....

Hi Dive Goddess -- Just to let you know ... just did a liveaboard with Mac's Sport's in Clearwater, FL aboard the Ultimate Getaway out of Ft. Myers, FL. Before the first dive (nearly at dawn) no one said a word about my Tahiti Sweeti dive skin. (I think they were still asleep and/or thinking they were seeing things. I definitely stood out in a sea of black skins.) By the end of the trip -- most wanted one! I've given them all your web site address. So expect some orders -- from women AND men! Everyone commented again and again -- that "seeing" me on a drift dive was easy easy easy -- almost comforting. Thanks for a fun angle to a serious sport. THANKS!!!

Hi, Sue, Got my hood today.....i wasn't expecting the nice big bib!!! My smaller lycra hoods have a short neck (which made me wish for an attachment)....but your hood will stay tucked in nicely. What is nice about the way you made the hood is the way you put a cuff around the face. . .I have several types of light hoods, and the one I like the best has a cuff. It makes the hood stay put around your face, and it keeps your hair out of the way better (granted, I have short hair; but stay strands are still possible.) I can't wait to try it out in little Cayman in November. we'll send you a picture!! Thanks,
Eileen

Hi Sue, I received the hoods today- that was FAST! They are all really great, and the bibs were a pleasant surprise. You put a lot of thought into the design. The PALAU has the nicest feel to it, and the REEF MADNESS looks even wilder than I imagined. Thanks very much. I hope you sell lots of them. I will be back for another "full" suit.

Hi, M.J.: As you can see from the differences amongst your swatches, we buy what we can take - there's not much out there in fun lycras that would work for what our dive customers like to do. So, we are often forced to buy prints that are in limited quantities. When the lycra manufacturer discontinues a print, it forces us to do the same, regardless of how popular the print may be with our customers. My usual advice to customers is: if you see it and like it, buy it. No telling how long a print or size will be available. COSMIC TROPIC has been available to our customers (as skins) for a couple of years. I usually order extra yardage than what I put into regular production for custom orders and that sort of thing. That extra amount in each print is exactly what is now available to make hoods (which is why the list is so specific) - a new product that I have ambivalent thoughts about how successful it will be. When that extra fabric is gone - it's GONE. Unfortunately, COSMIC TROPIC extra fabric ran out before we launched the new hoods. While many have asked for printed catalogs, it would be cost prohibitive, which I would have had to pass along to customers. Sending along swatches is my way of making a compromise - and giving you really useful information from which to make your choices. Always, thank you for your kind words.

Hi Sue, The last time I ordered a suit from Dive Goddess I received swatches of other fabrics. I was surprised at the difference in thickness, stretch and finish among the fabrics. Because I was able to see and feel the actual fabric, it was easy for me to pick out another style that I liked. I chose Cosmic Tropic because the colors are so vibrant and the lycra is more substantial than some of the other fabrics. I only wish that you had Cosmic Tropic hoods. Without the swatches, I would have not have ordered this suit. I hope you continue to send them. I also appreciated the pre-treatment and fabric care instructions I received with my last order. Dive Goddess suits are fun to wear and are great conversation starters.

Hi, Susan: Love the visual you set up! It reminds me of "Finding Nemo" (saw it 3 times already - great flick!) where the seagulls caw "Mine, mine, mine." I'm not sure I'm ever going to not have cartoons in my head whenever I go diving from now on!

Hi Sue, Just returned from a weekend of diving in the Sea of Cortez, San Carlos, Mexico. After the last dive on Monday, while enjoying the calm seas on the surface I noticed a pelican eyeing my dive skin thinking he was about to get a free, plentiful and easy meal. I was wearing Tide Pool. He kept swimming closer until he realized the fish weren't edible. What fun.

Hey Sue.....Great suit! I totally love the feel of it, as well as the look of it! I wore it on every one of my 25 dives last week in Tuneffe Flats, Belize. I think that The Goddess should petetion the "Powers That Be" into outlawing black wetsuits! The following reasons cited for this new 'law' are as follows: 1). Black wetsuits are BORING 2). How is one supposed to immediately spot their buddy when EVERYONE is wearing black? 3). Black wetsuits ---even ones with a strip or two---are BORING 4). When one visits such a wonderful and diverse enviroment (such as the reef), we should pay tribute by wearing only suits that are as individual as the sea is; and finally, 5). BLACK WETSUITS ARE BORING! Again, Sue, thanks for the "new memories" of wearing my new suit and feeling as beautiful as the fish that live in the sea (squirrel fish not included)! I hope to meet you someday! -------Suzanne-------

Hi Sue-- Although I have never met you; I feel as though you would be a great dive buddy! :) Thanks for your helpfulness in this matter; I was so excited when I got your e-mail and saw those wonderful scrunchies are on their way! Thanks again for your help; I was recently diving at the Great Barrier Reef in Port Douglas and got many compliments on the deep waters suit I bought last fall. Needless to say, your products turn heads! Thanks for such a great product and I look forward to seeing more of your things on island in the near future! Smiles from Saipan,

Hi Sue...I see you still have my picture up on your website...center stage no less! I love your scrunchies and I just ordered 10 of them. Your website looks great. Not diving much anymore...lots of medical stuff I won't go into plus working time constraints but I will always remember the comments I got on your skins (I have 2) and I even got some of my friends to buy them as well. Hope all is well with you and your business is thriving.

Dear Sue - My suits arrived today [from order, USA to UK in 6 days - very impressed!] and they are completely brilliant! The Aztec Purple is beautiful and very flattering. They are so comfortable, too. I have never liked diving suits - wet, cold, smelly and a nightmare to get on. I once saw someone diving in a swim skin and thought what a great idea, but totally impossible to get anything interesting in the UK. Your website is a god[ess]sent. The Macho Pichu is for my partner who is 50 this year and I am taking him to the Maldives for a surprise holiday in October - I think he will look great in it but won't know until October I'm afraid. But it looks pretty good on me.... Thank you so much, Kind regards

Hi, Sandra: I didn't even know that Tarpon Alley still existed! The last time we were at Grand Cayman, the dive-masters gave us this "look" when we asked to go there. (The "look" translated into : forgeddaboudit). Anyway - the visual you set up is precious!!!!! Really wish I could have been there when you gave the divers "high five" to a fellow DIVE GODDESS - I would say "what a sisterhood" although DIVE GODDESS caters to a LOT of dive-dudes who are with-it. Many thanks for sharing.

Hi Sue! I can't believe I completely forgot to tell you! When my hubby and I went to the Caymans, we saw another Dive Goddess! We were diving at Tarpon Alley and there was another group there, and there she was! Decked out in a Chi skin! Of course we recognized each other's exquisite taste and "OK"'d each other! I got a kick out of it and thought you would too, and my hubby said I ought to send you a picture of me in my skin, so I'll be sending one out soon! Sandra

Dear Sue: We will certainly send pictures, and I hope that you post a few. The Girls will be thrilled to see themselves! My husband is an amateur photographer and he started shooting under water about 3 years ago. He takes lessons from Cathy Church in The Caymans once or twice a year and has taken a number of very good pictures of the Girls snorkeling. I am sure that he will be snapping away at their first true dive experience(especially as they will make quite a picture in their Dive Goddess diveskins)! We return on August 10th, so I should have some pictures to you later that week. Thanks,

Our 11 and 13 year old daughters are being certified for our annual Cayman trip next week. The first thing they asked was if they could get diveskins from Dive Goddess!- who cares about gear! They each got 2, and Mommy treated herself to one new one. When my husband and I took a long dive weekend the beginning of June, our dive masters were somewhat disappointed that I did not have a new dive skin yet. We also went to Hawaii in March for Spring Vacation. Your Diveskins were a Huge hit- I was surprised that the West Coast had not yet discovered you! Anyway, I will send pictures, and you can expect business from our daughters for years to come. When we started ordering today they asked how many days we were diving- they wanted a different diveskin for each of the 9 days- Oh NO! Expect a Christmas order from me! Thanks for making diving fashionable and for conversation starters!

Hi Sue! Just wanted to add a "Blurble" and rave over my "Deep Waters" skin! My wonderful husband gave it to me for our 2 year anniversary. I have to admit I was a little skittish about wearing it, but it is SO comfortable! I get loads of compliments whenever I wear it diving, and my hubby says he has caught several dive masters checking out my butt in it (hee hee!)! He also says it's great being able to find me right away in a group. Again, I love it love it love it, and can't wait to pick out another one and expand my diving wardrobe! Thank you! Sandra Hutto

Hi, Sue: I recently purchased three dive skins as gifts. I'm returning one of them, because the recipient already has that pattern. I am keeping the other two, which are lovely. Between everyone in the family, we own about 14 of your skins, and we get many comments and compliments when we go diving. We always tell people the source of the lovely skins, and I hope some of these people have also followed up and become customers. Thank you.

Hi, Carla: I'm so glad you like your skin. They are great fun to dive in. Regarding making a "shorty" skin - it's do-able. We do offer customizing the length of sleeves and legs for an extra $10 above the cost of the skin. Because custom or customized skins are non-returnable, we do want to be sure that we are communicating, so that there are no disappointments. We have made "shorties" by using a type of elastic around the legs and arms that has a bit of grip in its construction. I think it's the same sort of thing used in the legs of bicycle shorts. Because lycra is so soft, if you don't use that sort of thing, the whole thing will ride up or bunch up. If this is what you had in mind, we can do it.

Hi Sue: Just wanted to let you know that I received a great skin as a gift from a friend. I love it!!!! Just have one question though???? Is it possible to make your wonderful skins in shorty style?? When I dive I am warmer than the usual person so I wear a shorty wet suit. I would love it if I could get your skins in the same lenght. Thanks for your consideration to this request. Carla

Hi Again Sue, I have a diveskin story to relate, one that transcends the years and may eventually lead to---well, who knows. We'll save that saga for another time. As you know, I am a dive instructor and strong advocate for your active divewear, the more colorful the better; but this story is not about me, so I'll move on. Had been searching for my high school sweetheart since we parted upon graduation, oh some many years ago---early sixties. Yes, we are both rapidly approaching 60. I tell you this now as it is relative to the series of events that follow. A short time ago, within the last couple of months to be more exact, I finally located her. We set up a reunion and, after 40 some years, we were able to meet again. As to be expected, after the pleasantries had been taken care of, the conversation turned to scuba diving. She remarked, "I have always wanted to try it but the time was never right, and now it's too late" I assumed she referred to age and begin to relate that diving is not difficult and taken in easy steps she to could soon be experiencing the thrill of a lifetime. But as I was about to learn, age was not her primary concern. Finally, though reluctant, she confided the true reason for her apprehension. Due to aging and gravity she no longer wore swimsuits and diving with clothes would indeed be difficult. As with most seniors, these issues are more perception than reality but none-the-less can create anxiety and thus have an adverse effect on the quality of life. Thus my dilemma---how to get her into a swimsuit. Goddess, do you hear the cavalry charge yet?Reinforcements are on the way of a solution! I related that dive skins normally worn as environmental protection and make wet suits slip on easier also cover a multitude of other things. So, we are at a computer reviewing the pattern catalog. Still somewhat hesitant she agrees to at least go check it out the following day. Found a local dive shop that had almost all the latest patterns in stock---not surprising, as divers are some of the smartest folks I know. It took all of about a nano-second for her to decide: They look so much better on than in the catalog. I'm thinking; this is going to be a lot easier that I thought. So, I kept quiet and let you do the talking---after all you are the Goddess. Without much delay and a few measurements later, it's off to the dressing room. The next event took me completely by surprise and rendered me speechless. The dressing room door was flung open and Ms Shy and Bashful has now become a Divegoddess model for all present. She could hardly contain her excitement. The next remark sums up the whole: "Yes I can do this!!" Can you guess who is now the proud owner of Tide Pool, Reef Madness, and Flame?? You accomplished in three hours what I could not have done in a lifetime---You are truly the Goddess!! But wait, there is more---you haven't finished the magic yet. On the return trip we had to make two stops. One at the mall---can you guess why?? Pick out a swimsuit of course, two in fact. Although she maintains few to none will ever see the swimsuit, the world will see the Divegoddess. Now, look at what you have done,--you have provided an opportunity to someone to break free and become adventurous again, in addition to adding another scuba diver to the rolls---and I love you for it!! The second stop was back to the scuba shop for mask, snorkel, fins, boots and dive instruction materials. That was three weeks ago, certification dives will follow on a Caribbean dive trip planned for early June. Who knows, Goddess, if things work out, we may be contacting you for a hers and his outfit for an underwater wedding. But you probably already knew that, didn't you?? Well, while my tale has been spun, I'm sure you have others that need your help and wisdom just as I, so I'll be moving a long now. Thanks again for making it possible for me to open the under water world to a dear friend. Ole seniors never fade away, the visit Divegoddess and scuba off together into the deep blue to share many tanks!!

Hi! I've just had your site forwarded to me and wow, I am blown away! Tell me, I am living over in the Middle East (UAE) and would love to get ahold of your products. I see you do ship 'outside' the US but do you ship THIS far out? Dive skins are just perfect for the climate here and so far have seen absolutely nothing outside of the regulation boring black... would love to set the UAE coast afire with one of your creations! Thanks so much from a hopeful future dive goddess!

Of course, everyone has a very different internal thermostat, so it's difficult to say what will be OK in Grand Cayman in late May. I can be perfectly happy with a DIVE GODDESS skin, but the next person must have a 5 mm with hood and gloves - and the next person next to her will have a bikini and nothing else! Many of our customers wear our skins under other thermal wear, which makes the whole business a lot easier to put on. Others wear our skins OVER other thermal wear, going for that great visual effect underwater. It's a very individual choice.

I bought my husband and I two of your suits before our trip to Yap, Chuuk and Palau in 3/02. My husband is very conservative and only put it on because I insisted... but by the time we finished our trip, he said he would like a new suit for our trip this year. We could have sold our suits a thousand times over to all the people we dove with! It was so easy to distinquish each other in our underwater videos! Looking forward to picking out new patterns this year...

Have you ever given thought to a swap shop? As some of us change sizes, styles change or decide we don't want to wear the same skin every season or can't dive any longer, you could act as a mediator of previously worn skins. For a small fee of course. Kind of like a consignment shop. You could set rules of no holes, etc., post a picture of skin (for a fee say $15-25) and the e-mail address of the owner. Then after say 90 days the information disappears. They sell the old skin, then buy a new one. You win both ways. They are gonna sell the old one anyway. Have a bubble good time this year. Happy New Year.

Actually, Patrice, we do have a wedding skin - and it's very beautiful. One goal we have for 2003 is to create a bridal page on the web-site with proper photos to show off this very lovely ensemble. The skin itself is a mother-of-pearl material, topped with shimmery netting across the shoulders and arms, for a very feminine look. We offer a BC vest that covers your regular BC vest, dive bootie covers all made of a heavier mother-of-pearl material, and a finally touch: a gold snorkel holder/garter. The ensemble is completed with a veil that has thumb-loops - to keep the whole business in place, in case the wedding is happening underwater. The vest and veil is finished in tear-drop hand-sewn pearls. We have outfitted many brides who wanted to "take the plunge" underwater. Of course, it can also be worn above-water, as well.

Dear Sue, My fiancé and I are getting married in February in Fiji on the dive boat Nai'a. We have been searching all around for a white wet suit. We were checking out your dive goddess suits in hopes that we would find one. Okay there are some pretty cool designs but I am looking for a white one. I did notice a white dive suit on a woman looking very much like a bride in one of the group photos on your website so I was wondering if you have that for sale or is that just for show in the picture? Can anyone help us? Although we are getting married on the dive boat NOT UNDER the boat we still thought it would be fun to jump in wearing a veil and a white wetsuit that is, after the ceremony or soon afterwards once I get out of my Mermaid Skirt and white silky blouse. Any ideas for me anyone? We leave on 2/13/03 for Fiji. Aloha, Patrice

Sue, Just love seeing myself as part of the catalog....I'm the "Dive-Bitch" member of the Cosmic Tropic Sea Lab Dive Court (far right in pic). I've just ordered Tide Pool for an after-Christmas present. I didn't dive for a long time, even though my husband and friends did, for lots of reasons....one being because I thought, "who looks good in scuba wear?". Well, now that I've been introduced by my friend Laura to DIVE GODDESS, there's no stopping me now! Thanks for the "LOOK". Now if you can develop lipstick that stays on the lips and not the regulator mouthpiece, you'll really be the vain divers heroine! Thanks and Happy New Year!

Hi, Sue. I received Reef Madness from my brother and sister-in-law as a Christmas present this year. It's fabulously wild!! No getting lost in this skin. And the vertical pattern is flattering. Don't know where I'll dive this next year, but can't wait to try my new skin. By the way, there are so few post cards on your site. What's happening? I love seeing these skins (both old and new) on real divers.

We're leaving for Cozumel on 12/21, if for some reason this fabric/size is not available for shipment so that I can receive it before we leave, could you let me know. I'll select another fabric..... I can't say it enough -- I LOVE THESE THINGS!!! I'll probably try to get yet one more ordered before our trip!!!! Thanks again, JoEllen

OHMYGOODNESS!!!! I just received my Tahiti Sweetie -- it is FABULOUS. The pictures just do not do it justice! I cannot wait to wear it in Cozumel next month. Thanks for including "non-fade" directions. I'll definitely do that right away. Again, thank you for another awesome product. Your prints and patterns keep getting better and better. And thanks for the fast shipping -- I didn't expect it for another few weeks. Keep up the good work. You've definitely made a loyal fan here in Ohio!!!

Hey all, I bought a suit and took it with me to Cozumel. Let me tell you! I enjoyed all the attention it received. My daughter and everyone else was able to see me without any problem. I have a photo to post as soon as I figure out how to do so. I had an interesting reaction from the suit when I went to swim with the dolphins. The dophins would not approach me. They would swim by take a look and leave. I had to remove it to continue with the swim. Once off, I had no problems with them. I have a blue suit, and someone suggested that I , perhaps reminded them of a shark. Other than this I thoroughly enjoyed my suit. Thanks for being there. Louie

Hi, Leslie: Many thanks for your kind words. I hope you won't mind if I add them to our BLURBLES & PEARLS feature on our web-site. I LOVE hearing how much fun DIVE GODDESS is privileged to add to our customers' adventures. As for retiring prints so quickly: We are frequently working with prints that are in limited quantities. When the lycra manufacturers discontinue a print, it forces us to do the same, regardless of how popular it might be with DIVE GODDESS customers. My general advice to customers is: If you see it, like it, buy it. We haven't got much control over how long supplies will last!

I just returned from a wonderful dive trip to Bonaire and felt compelled to tell you about the reaction to the dive skins I ordered from you on line. Myself and another female diver in our group were the only ones in colorful skins and boy were we noticed! Not only did the skins protect us from any elements in the water, they sure did atttract a lot of attention. And needless to say, we gave out your email address to many! The skins were comfortable and easy to deal with and did not create any bulk when packed. They dried quick in the Bonaire breeze and we were ready again for that afternoon and or evening dive in no time! I only wish you did not retire the prints as quickly! But, they are well worth the investment and hopefully, you will get some sales from our marketing! We only saw others in the 'drab' black and you sure could see us coming in our colorful skins! Thanks for a great product!

Hey Sue, I made it back from Bonaire. But I came back kicking and screaming. :) What a beautiful place and the people are fabulous. Wish I could have stayed there a month. Since I went alone, the suits were magnificient ice-breakers. When I wore the Yo'Snake, Alvine (one of the dive masters at the resort) told me "that's a cool suit" and that I was the best dressed diver on the island. Other divers even told me they began diving the early boat just to see what I'd wear. With a different suit every day, they weren't disappointed. Everyone finally had to ask "where'd you get that skin"? Instead of just saying where, I gave them your card, the laminated ones. The cards were almost as big a hit as the suits. Everyone loved the design of your cards. So you should get plenty of response from the terrific people that I had the pleasure of meeting and diving with during that week. It was so funny, I met a couple from Boston, Dave and Marcie and she told me I was really ticking Dave off, because he had always been the fashion statement on the boat. I breathed easier after that, since he is a large gentleman. The Electra-eel, got his attention but the Flame made him reliquish his crown. We became friends and had many wonderful dives. Dave has some pictures he is gonna send. He is over 6 foot and 300 lbs and his favorite color is Pink. He said he admires any man that is macho enough to set standards in fashionable dive attire. Hope you have a Parrot Fish in his size. They are a great couple. When the Agualing-linq came out the boat absolutely loved it and several said that's the one they wanted or they were gonna buy it for so and so for Christmas. But the favorite one of all is still the Paint Splashes. Even a 3 foot Baracuda seemed to enjoy it as he followed me on half a dive, I don't quess he'd ever seen a skittles explosion underwater. :) I did visit another resort for an afternoon shore dive and after much debate decided to wear the Flame, and as luck would have it a woman there was also wearing it. You just can't go anywhere without bumping into one of your suits. I can't wait for the fall collection to come out. I need to be able to do a 2 week trip and never wear the same one 2ce :) Have a great rest of your year and may God Bless You and Yours. I'll send pics as soon as possible. your friend, David

Sue, You are truly a Dive Goddess!! Our new skins arrived yesterday---in plenty of time for our trip to Roatan next week. I'm teaching an open water class this week-end and picked up the package on the to the shop. Well not wanting to miss a chance to show off the latest additions to the scuba toys war chest I put them on display. Sue---the staff and customers in the store were ecstatic. We are all in agreement that it's about time some one in the dive industry made dive apparel in some color other than black. Three staff, two students, and a couple of customers wanted the web address so they can become part of the Goddess crowd. Thanks for adding some color to the dive scene and for giving us something new to talk about. I believe a feel a challenge coming on as to who can become the most brightly dressed diver around our shop!!! Believe I have a winning advantage since four of your creations are already in my arsenal. Keep the bights ON and I'll keep you posted.

Hi, Bob: Absolutely, your suits went out the same afternoon. You may get it as early as Saturday, although "PRIORITY MAIL" (post office) is somewhat flexible in their interpretation of that. Many thanks for your very kind and complimentary words. I hope you won't mind if I put it on the site under "BLURBLES & PEARLS" to share with other customers. Sometimes my "real men" potential customers really need to hear it from a "real man" how much fun - and safety our DIVE GODDESS skins offer. Send pics!

Hi Sue, I am currently the proud owner of two other Dive Goddess outfits. The first, I bought from a dive shop (rain beau) before I knew your web address and the second (parrot fish) was procured directly from the website. The service you provide and the quality of your products is beyond compare. I am happy to recommend and tell all who ask, "where do you find that skin?" about your products" I'm a dive instructor and for years have heard students complain "it's too hard to find or recognize you in a crowd. Well thanks to the Dive Goddess line, students no longer complain, for when I'm wearing my Dive Goddess creation I am by far the most visible diver at the dive site. Thanks for your service and making diving not only fun but also colorful.

Sue - Just wanted to let you know that I just ordered my 6th DiveGoddess skin. As a matter of fact, 2 of my friends also ordered the same Cosmic Tropic skin. We plan on having our photo taken while diving on our annual Cozumel trip in July. We'll email the photo to you so that we can join the "Gallery". I have enjoyed my skins so much. They always cause a stir on the dive boats and I get some very interesting comments. I ordered the first skin so that my husband would know where I was under the water. Now, my kids say that they like it that they can identify me, too. I'm hooded on your products. Keep the new patterns coming! Your friend and fellow dive goddess. Laura

Just writing to say thank you, and I haven't even purchased anything yet. I've been diving for five years now and ever since I first got into this sport, I've been searching for brightly colored dive gear. For the most part I chose Yellow as my color. I soon found that the only thing that come entirely in yellow in a tank and maybe a flashlight. I can't figure out why in a semi-dngerous sport everyone wouldn't want to be seen. If I'm in trouble or my buddy is in trouble I want them to be able to find me. The established dive industry has been an absolute Grinch. Every dive suit out there whether its a 7mm farmer John or a Lycra dive skin is based on the color black, if there is any color. Sadly enough some even are all black. Thanks for going against the norm. I hope that you are wildly successful and show the dive industry that they are wrong .... we want to be as colorful as the coral we dive to see. Not to mention the pictures are that much better. I was also glad to see that you change patterns too. Thanks, Dave in Minnesota

I have already ordered and received another dive skin. And it fits great. I have been wearing it weekly to the aquamarine where we volunteer our time in the tanks with the seals. The comments that I have received are "Where do you put the batteries" to "Man, thats great, where did you get it, I need one." I cannot wait until our trip to Walkers Cay in April to see what the members of our dive group have to say. I'll let you know the outcome. Thanks for the suit - Deborah O.

Dear Sue: Your dive suits are incredible and causing quite a stir here in my little dive community...while looking for something new for our up-coming Blackbeard cruise this Saturday, I stumbled across your web site in a dive magazine, logged on and went nuts...called my girlfriend who is going with me and she ordered two, I ordered one, my cousin from Vermont came to visit and she ordered one, I told our dive club secretary, she and her husband both ordered one and even put the web site in our news letter...then I had to order another one, and my sweetheart who is just getting certified couldn't be left out in the cold, so I ordered one for him....well, you now have a fan club here...we plan on taking a picture of us in all our glory and will send it on to you for your files.... thanks so much... Dear Sue, I wore my new Dive Goddess suit on our scuba trip to Turks & Caicos. Everyone remarked on how colorful I was! I always told them about your company and your web address. Wish you would also make colorful wetsuits - the blacks are sooooo boring. Most dive shops are so into the macho black. Thank YOU for dreaming in such bright colors!! Elaine B

Sue, The Trip to Grand Cayman and then to Black-Beard were fantastic. It was amazing on the 1st boat in GC no one said a word about Christy's Tropical or my Paint Splashes. I wonder if they were really alive. The next boat was crazy for them. It opened up communication and made the dive more enjoyable. I think we just shocked the first group too much. The following week I went to the Bahamas on a Black-Beard trip and when the suit came out I had women rushing up to me to find out were I got it, they thought it was great that a man would wear something other than blue and black. Even the guys liked it. They all said I look like a Juju-fruit or skittles explosion. You gotta love it. I just ordered the Az-tek blue. So next year look out, I may have a whole wardrobe of non-boring skins. Thanks for making the trips more exciting. I love the variety, keep it coming. thanks, David

Kathy: Thanks for your interest in DIVE GODDESS skins. I would not be afraid of any of my prints. Well, maybe NEPTUNE doesn't really do much, but it's the most conservative one I could find for those (men) who are less fashion-adventurous. We do not make anything in solid colors. What we've found is that any solid color, even black (especially in lycra), shows every lump and bump that many of us would prefer to hide or downplay. In nature, nothing is a solid color. In the tropical seas, what we love about being happy observers is the variety of patterns, contrasts, visual textures. My understanding of the shark attacks is that (1) sharks hunt at dusk and dawn, (2) they have lousy vision, and (3) people in the surf (none of those attacked were scuba divers) when splashing about looked as if they were injured prey (to a shark) and that they were in the water at dawn or dusk. I would think that because sharks have lousy vision, that I would want to be as distinctly visible as possible and truly NOT look like anything injured or like their favorite food (black seals)! I've also heard that sharks are really not at all interested in people and should one come near, look as large as possible (PBS). Sue dive goddess

looking for a full length body suit in a light color for an awfully long time. We live in an area that has had several shark attacks so I am looking for the suit in that beautiful aqua/mint green color that is the Emerald Coast's (Florida) water color so I won't stand out in contrast. Please hurry, add it to the line, as swim season is here ! $115.00 is just fine for what I want.

$115 is not so bad. Consider what other dive equipment is. Really! I have 5 children and they can consume that much food in one day! I have had my dive skin for about a year and it looks like new. It is my signature! We dive all year here in Florida. One of the most interesting things that happened with my dive skin is.... I was on a dive about 4 hrs from home in Troy springs. I met a couple that were on the same boat. She admired my skin. Well about two months later I was diving Blue Grotto a dive site 2 hrs in a different direction. This couple remembered my dive skin. Small world world when you are a Dive Goddess! I can't wait to buy several others!

Hi, Sue and Martha. I've been following the discussion on the "pricey" skins. I guess it's truly a matter of perspective. I live in San Francisco where I recently paid $100 for a simple silk blouse and $86 for a pair of pajamas made by a couple of local female Bay Area entrepreneurs (thecatspjs.com). Of course I could find cheaper pajamas, but these are wonderfully inventive and fun. I feel the same way about Dive Goddess skins. I don't know much about the cost in the rest of the country, but I paid $110 here for my plain black (with a little purple) skin before I discovered Dive Goddess last year. As for wear and tear, I bought 2 Dive Goddess skins last year (or actually bought one and received one as a Christmas gift) and wore them for two weeks on all my dives in both Roatan and Grand Cayman. Besides the fun of switching colors, it was great having a dry skin for afternoon dives. I agree that these skins need more care than thicker skins and wetsuits because they definitely can be damaged by contact with velcro, which is sometimes hard to avoid, at least with my BC. However, by simply placing the skin into a pouch of its own -- away from anything velcro -- and following normal rinsing procedures after diving, mine are still like new. I just wish I could afford to dive enough to wear one out!

San Francisco, - Friday, May 03, 2002 at 18:18:08 (CDT)

Hi, Martha: Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me and DIVE GODDESS customers. It's always nice to get feedback. You're absolutely right: $115 is a lot of money. Please let me share with you why this is so. We are a very small company. To be able to offer seven sizes and 25+ different prints, we must keep our output too small to be manufactured overseas (which demands volume production; hence, an all-black repertoire), so all our suits are made here in Texas. This is quite more expensive than overseas production. Also, print lycra is two-to-three times more expensive than any solid color (especially black). Finally, DIVE GODDESS has not raised its prices in five years and, at this time, has no plans for doing so. You'd be amazed at how expensive the very minimal advertising we do costs. We try to be as frugal as possible. One way is to not produce a printed catalog. As for the condition of your skin: DIVE GODDESS has always stood behind our warranty of any manufacturing defects that you may be experiencing. If it's something that we can repair or replace, for any defects committed on our part, we will be very happy to do so. All our garments are sent out with care-labels that carefully describe how best to take care of your skin. Velcro is especially hard on lycra - which is, unfortunately, what most dive gear is swathed with. Do not dry the skin in the sun or in the dryer. Do not twist or wring. And always, always rinse the skin after exposure to any salt water and chlorine. We have many customers who have owned their skins for years and years - dive instructors who are typically very hard on their gear. Most of them look absolutely pristine; but it took care for them to remain so. There are other dive skin manufacturers who work with bright colors. Most likely mixed with black, but nevertheless they may use some contrast, and be less in cost. DIVE GODDESS' goal is to put fun, personality, visual-distinctiveness into a sport that is already a lot of fun, but could use a little bit more fashion and lot more visual-safety underwater.

Hi Sue, I discovered your skins through Sport Diver magazine. I have a paint splash that I love and gets lots of attention. I have to agree with another writer, though, that $115 is a bit pricey. Unfortunately, I've only had my skin for about a year and it is already completely worn out. It did not seem to stand up to dives very well. I'd like to replace it but am having a hard time convincing myself to spend that much money just because I like bright colors. Thanks...Martha

Sue, Adding the new photos with models wearing these suits is tremendously helpful in helping us determine what each pattern will look like on. It's so much easier than trying to envision an enlarged swatch. Am anxiously awaiting one for Cosmic Tropic. Am also looking forward to seeing real dive photos posted to your site from divers wearing these new skins at their dive locations. Hope to be able to send you one of Parrot Fish from Bonaire in August. In the past I've always waiting for the postcards before making my selection, because I wanted to see what they looked like when worn by real divers. Unfortunately, that sometimes meant that by the time I selected one, it was sold out in my size.

I too looked for your suits in the February issue of Skin Diver. However, I was disappointed to discover that Greg Johnston chose to photograph your beautiful Chi suit on a woman in a suggestive pose "slinking across the rocks." Wouldn't it have been fabulous to see a diver wearing the suit (or any of your suits) in a real dive (perhaps beyond this photographer's skill)!! While I personally find the photo immature, I hope it results in more sales of your suits. They're wonderful and so much fun.

Sue - I purchased my purple elegance several years ago at a dive show here in South Florida and look for you every year hoping you will be back! I love my skin! It gets alot of attention on all the boats but the best part is the way it fits and the way it wears! My skin looks as good as the day I bought it. All I can say is WOW!! So much hot pink, such flattering angles. Have seen lots of Parrot Fish, but none in hot pink. It will be great fun to be among the first. Sue, Thanks so much for the prompt service during my recent order for one of your Dive Goddess diveskins. It took just three days via priority mail to get out here to Guam. The nice thing about dealing with you folks is that you don't try to gouge us on shipping charges. When we first arrived out here my wife was trying to buy a skin from a company that wanted over $20 to ship to Guam. The suit fits right inside a priority mail envelope that costs just $3.95 to mail. You folks are great. Also, I wore my skin for the first time when we went to Chuuk and dove in the Truuk Lagoon. Many jellyfishes. Not only did my suit work but everyone loved the colors (I have the red, white and blue). I am slated to shot the samples you sent to a few others and you can expect some business from out this way. Need a salesperson? Thanks again for the great service and product. Kirk Guam, USA

I bought your 'Grapes of Wrasse' pattern and enjoyed the attention it got me out on the Great Barrier Reef out of Cairns, Australia. I got some first class views of a couple of White and Black Tip Reef Sharks. I was thinking with the gold highlights catching the sun they must have thought me a giant lure!!! I loved having my own dive suit when renting wetsuits from very busy dive boats. Don't wait ... get a dive skin!!! Even if you don't dive a lot like me, who lives in the desert, it's great for anytime you're out in the water! Great sun protection even in a lake waterskiing!

Sue, Thanks for the info about your patterns. I will keep my eyes on your website. I am irritated that I let my husband convince me that I should at least wait until we got certified before I make the investment in a dive skin, but that's life, maybe that means that if I wait you will be coming out with something that is even more me. Again, thanks for the response and info. I have to say I think your dive skins are so much more fun then the regular companies put out. So I promise when I see a pattern that I can say is the real me, I will order it as soon as I see it. Eileen

Sue: I am sure you don't remember me but I purchased your paint splash in the hopes the color would enable me to get closer to the fish. Being an underwater photographer, I need every edge I can get. I couldn't believe it ~ the parrott fish were following me as were the queen angels. The web site are some of the pictures I was able to take. Notice how clear the pictures are - that is because I was able to get closer. Now my camera is not a high end as you can see, but WOW was I impressed at the difference the colors made. The skin did exactly what I needed. I was a diver magnet ~ having seen the skin on the boat they knew I was with their group and followed me everywhere. I will be replacing my photo with one of me wearing your dive skin as soon as my wellmeaning, but slow to get pictures developed, dive buddy gives it to me. Cheri, FL

In fact, the suit arrived so fast, I got to take it on a dive the following weekend to the Bonne Terre mine in Missouri. I caused quite a stir in the locker room (a little splashy, flashy for the Heartland). Lots of the ladies changing asked about my skin as I put my wetsuit over top. You'll be pleased to know that most of them had already heard about the DiveGoddess and were interested to see one up close. I think they were most impressed by the quality and craftsmanship, as one commented about the stitching. One even asked me about buying the suit online... I let her know that you had a secure purchasing site and that my order was processed quickly. She asked me if I would buy another... I let her know that I would in a hearbeat! Thanks again for such a good-quality, fun product. If the old saying is true...that one's clothing is the reflection of one's self... that would make me a DiveGoddess. Pinch me... It doesn't get any better than that!! Take care! Cheers, Brenda

Hi, Carolyn: Thanks for your kind words of support - and I'm so glad that DIVE GODDESS was a special addition to your Bonaire dive trip - a very special place to dive. Any pictures you'd like to add? Sue ~ dive goddess

Sue: I bought one of your fantastic dive skins last year and wore it the week I was in Bonaire. I sure got alot of looks from the other divers. My suit started more conversations with people and I gave them your website so they too could get their own wild look for underwater fun. The best thing was, my entire family knew which diver I was underwater, there was not doubt of that. Thanks for supplying such fun suits. Carolyn M Florida.

Sue, I received that beautiful red, white and blue skin last week. It fits me perfectly! My wife says I look like one of those Olympic swimmers, but she MUST be looking through the eyes of Love. Anyway, I really appreciate the fast service that you and your seamstress did to get this to me. We will take plenty of pictures while we are in New Guinea. I will send some to you when we get back. Again, Thanks for the great skins and great service. Steve G.

I just returned from Little Cayman and a week of GREAT diving. One of the hits of the week was my new "Harlequin" DIVE GODDESS skin. I bought it right before going and was not sure how I would react to it or how fellow divers would react. Well, the women on the boats always were quite taken and the male divers and dive masters were thrilled that someone had the courage to challenge the beauty of the fish life! My husband could always spot me instantly underwater and took several photos of the skin in use underwater. Do you want any? Thanks again for a terrific idea and execution. Mary H
